Course Outline
This six-week Tibetan Alphabet and Reading Course is designed to help you read and pronounce Tibetan, serving as a prerequisite for བོད་སྐད་སྙིང་པོ། The Heart of Tibetan Online Colloquial Tibetan Lower Beginner Language Course (Tib. 101) starting in March 2025
What to Expect:
- Live Classes: Twice a week on Saturdays and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CET.
- Personalized Practice: One-on-one weekly private sessions with a native Tibetan-speaking tutor, scheduled individually with the help of our Tutor Coordinator, Gen Pema Woeser-la.
- Collaborative Learning: Small group reading tasks to build fluency, with regular feedback from your learning buddy
Who should join?
This course is ideal for:
- Students who wish to participate in the བོད་སྐད་སྙིང་པོ། The Heart of Tibetan Online Colloquial Tibetan Lower Beginner Language Course (Tib. 101) but need to learn to read Tibetan script.
- Anyone eager to master Tibetan script, even if not continuing to the March course.
If you’ve already studied Classical Tibetan and are confident in reading the script, you can join Tib. 101 directly in March 2025.
Why Join?
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to read any Tibetan text, including Sanskrit mantras written in Tibetan script.
