SINI’s students have shown great dedication in their studies, and their efforts are bearing fruit globally. Through Zoom, SINI ‘s monastics have held seminar discussions with students at Harvard Divinity School and Brandeis University. The conversations covered a wide array of topics, ranging from the reasons and conditions leading to the decision to become a monastic, to daily schedules in the monastery, to subjects involving the nature of mind and the interpretation of sutras and commentaries.
These exciting new collaborations highlight the opportunities for cross-cultural discussion, allowing for new opportunities for the transmission of and/or clarification of questions related to traditional Vajrayana philosophy and dharma in concert with secular global audiences around the world. The sessions are also opening the door to extended opportunities for university students to travel to SINI to work directly with our students. It is our aspiration to continue to develop and grow this exciting new aspect of SINI’s work.
